Accounting Assistant

Job Overview

SMO Careers is hiring on behalf of a client in the citrus industry for an Accounting Assistant to join their Finance Operations team.

This role focuses on supporting finance operations and export documentation processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth coordination with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounts administration (sales & purchase invoices)
• Assist with supplier statement checks and basic reconciliations
• Maintain accurate filing and document control (physical and digital)
• Support internal reporting and data entry using Excel
• Assist with general finance administration as required
• Export Documentation Support
• Prepare export documents such as Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates (as required), Shipping / dispatch documentation
• Coordinate documentation with internal teams and freight forwarders
• Ensure shipment details are accurate (product codes, weights, batches, customer requirements)
• Support export scheduling and ensure deadlines are met
• Maintain structured export files and records for traceability and compliance

Requirements

• 1–3 years experience in accounts administration and/or export documentation
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Logistics, or similar
• Strong Excel skills (essential)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Organised, reliable, and able to work under deadlines
• Strong written and spoken English
• Comfortable handling confidential financial information
• Experience in a trading or export environment
• Knowledge of accounting software (ESOFT / PREMIERSOFT / similar)

Good to have

• Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant
